2023-ongoing
I feel like I have walked a hundred days, and my heart bumps behind me on a string.
A hundred faces have glanced off of me. Each encounter is religious.
My mind goes blank, and all I see are a hundred familiar uncertainties.
On the third night in Siem Reap, I met Nik, a person of the same age as me, but with more life experiences. She shared her personal stories and hardships with me, which included love, grief, and trauma. Since then, we have become friends. Nik's story expanded my curiosity, and I began to wonder about how many people rely on the night to cope with the burdens and uncertainties of life, especially individuals my age or younger. This ongoing body of work centers around the people of the night, and I aim to establish a personal connection with their experiences in Siem Reap.
